
Bangkok Cancer Hospital Wattanosoth Welcomes Expert Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Physicians from Oregon Health & Science University
Bangkok Cancer Hospital Wattanosoth had the honor of hosting expert physicians from Oregon Health & Science University’s (OHSU) Blood and Marrow Transplant program. The delegation, led by Prof. Dr. Richard Maziarz, Director of Blood & Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy, and Prof. Dr. Eneida Nemecek, Director of Pediatric BMT, met with Prof. Dr. Thiravud Khuhaprema, Director of Bangkok Cancer Hospital Wattanosoth and Prof. Dr. Surapol Issaragrisil, Senior Director of the BMT Center at Bangkok Cancer Hospital Wattanosoth, along with a team of doctors and nurses.
The teams engaged in in-depth discussions on adult and pediatric BMT, focusing on complex case management, pediatric thalassemia, and advancements in CAR-T cell therapy. The collaboration also aimed at setting standards for quality, developing KPIs, and establishing an efficient patient referral system. These efforts are expected to expand and improve BMT services and patient care strategies in Thailand, leading to enhanced and more effective patient outcomes.
